Having spent the last days at hospitals, schools and elections booths, it was nice to be able to relax with people of my own maturity level who I can see eye to eye with, for I was invited to Vivaan’s fourth birthday.
With the Indian family structure based on harmony, I found us celebrating with 3 cakes for one 4-year-old, one with the parents and sister at first moment past midnight of the birhday, with presents opened prior to sleep.
At breakfast the balance of this cake was eaten. And a bit of a ceremony at in home alter had.
For lunch a trip to the grandparents on the mother’s side and a second cake, with presents and song.
With a return to the family home the father’s parents came over, for the third cake and a trip to the fun center for dinner.
Returning to finish the last of the remaining cake, as children, neighbors and adults played with the new bike. Then children played with the new gifts and the parents talked into the wee hours of the morn.
