As I found my engine blown, and no oil, I contacted my English fluent, mechanic Nuno Pimente, to collect the car and see if it could be fixed. As it turns out, it could not be, a rod had been thrown. It would cost almost as much to replace the engine as to get a new car.
I asked, Nuno if he could find the same make and model for me (Honda HMV), as this car was perfect for my needs, in that it was small enough to handle narrow streets, spry enough as a 4-wheel drive to handle non-road, roads, I find myself on, as I chase the moon. I also asked him if he could help me with the process of paperwork, inspections, licensing, toll monitor etc. as my language skills are not yet sufficient.
Nuno provided me with a loaner car, making me operational as he searched for a quality replacement. Within a week’s time he had located a car that not only matched my needs, but matched even in color of the one, that had died. To reduce my chances of an untimely re-occurrence of death to the new used car, Nuno took a week, to check it over, replacing its older tires with my newer tires, moving over my back up alarm system and more. While also providing me with a One Year Warranty.
Better yet, he and his staff took care of all the paper and document logistics for getting the old cars and new cars certified, covered with insurance, licensed, toll monitor engaged etc.
The last thing we had to do, was get spare keys made, to have back up, if I ever lost the originals or locked them in the car. With Nuno as chauffer, the keys taken care of, I could now drive home, in my new used car, having escaped the stress and challenge of Auto Bureaucracy.
