Enjoying Diwali with friends and hosts in New Delhi

October 30, 2016 · Delhi, India

Welcome to Diwali, India’s Thanksgiving and New Years all-one, almost a month long celebration, as homes are decorated as if it were Christmas. Tonight it ends, after a week of constant fireworks, with families sharing a meal and blessings. As I write this I have finished sharing blessing with my hosts, Murad and Tannie and have taken pictures of the fireworks outside.

Harvinder Singh made a posting earlier in the day wishing his Facebook friends a Happy Diwali. We shared the same village in Ireland for over a decade. When I arrived in Kinvara, he made my wife of the time Melissa Sparks Murphy feel at home. So with these photos despite his distance from the celebration I want to share it with him and you. Kinvara is a special place where whether you are a local, a blowin or a blowback, we look out for each other.

And on this bit of trip I am on, Kinvara has been with me, Valerie O Hanlon, Erin Davidson, Magaly MaciaCiarán MoylanBrian FlemingMaeve Kelly, Mathilda Twomey, Connor Cody, and more even Joe Byrne with the local sport scores, have kept me connected to Kinvara or helped me along the way. It is nice to know that no matter where in the world one may be, once you make the Kinvara connection, it is not lost. So Harvinder Singh this posting is for you. Its nice to be in place from whence you came. Thank you for helping make KInvara special….
