Vila do Conde.
April 14
In Isolated View
Alone tethered on a rope.
Attached to ship and shore.
Secured by root and twine.
Suspended in air, sometimes not.
Beneath water, sometimes not.
For as the tide rises and falls,
so does isolation’s atmosphere.
Safe from storm; wet, cold, unseen
when under the sea.
Warm and dry, able to be seen,
when weather is fair.
Or hanging on for life
on a tightrope when storm exposed.
Persevering as environment changes,
Thrice daily.
Constant change, calm remains.
Weathering life on a tightrope of changing environments.
In isolated view.
