A puppy that could not jump over a small wall, now known to all,
I got a call one night, a wife in tears; a puppy found. She implored, “I found this little puppy, so small he cannot jump over a small wall, should I have him killed?” to which I replied, “Yes Melissa, you may keep the puppy.”
It was with that our Irish mutt dog, who I named Dee O’Gee (D.O.G.) came into our life’s, followed by a sister cat, Cee A.Tee (C.A.T.) and then her daughter and his niece Blaithin (Irish for little flower)
Names made easy, as we would host over the next years over 70,000 guests and 50 hostel helpers of as many nationalities or more.
Dee O’Gee was a wonder, a guest could leave, and come back another year, not to be forgotten by D.O.G, as a big ”welcome back”, dog kiss would be given.
For life is a series of memories, that may or may not come to an end, we never know until after we go beyond our own small wall of life.
Melissa went from wife to best friend, and man’s best friend went with her to finish his life with her.
Now as time and we pass, I want to share good memories for Melissa and others, to be taken to the next place, as memories not forgotten when she and Dee O’Gee meet once again, for a sloppy kiss and an eternity of shared memories. As those we met in this this life come to join her; Dee O’Gee will remind her of who they were.
As for, me, when I go, I hope to be reincarnated as one of her puppies, for animals loved by Melissa is a animal loved in deed and soul.
Until then as I encounter puppies, pets and animal’s wild, memories of Melissa and D.O.G will live on beyond their time here, and into their eternity.
As Dee O’Gee the hostel guest’s tour guide, now heavenly tour guide, guides the way.
This is only a small slice of photos and time between D.O.G. any others who have photos to add please do so.
