Makings of a Road Trip:
A waitress named Brenda, who was with child. A tourist named Brendan. A laugh between the two, at the sharing of their names. A tip to be given, to the waitress, that would be shared by staff.
Ergo a second tip for the life within her.
Two months later an email from Brenda, sharing the baby had been named for the tipster Brendan.
One year later: Name meets namesake, to see first steps and first ice cream, and even Crocodile petting. And sharing of friends from Zambia.
Two years later: An exotic animal (a bear is given) Brandon who is now eating big boy food and has big game behind.
Year three: With passport in hand for Brandon, and drivers’ Licence for Brenda, it is now time for a road trip.
Where Brandon will meet new friends his age, from Krisjan who lives in a resettlement camp in Namibia, to children of the Bush in Botswana.
Before, he turns 3 on Halloween, he will have become an international traveller. Half the age as the one for which he was named for, and who first ventured from the boundary of his world at age 6.
