Oil

ENDING AN OIL SHORTAGE: Each of the last 7 sun settings I have ventured into a neighborhood, of reed homes, on the edge of fhe Baroste’s Plain, greeted by children who call me by my local name, Sitali. As they walk with me, some parents would ask if I had 1 Kwatcha, 10 cents, so they could by 10ml of oil, I opted instead on final night with them, to bring each of the 24 homes, a 1 liter bottle of cooking oil instead, enough for 100 or more meals each, at 1 quarter the cost, to me, that they were paying.

Aided by Elizabeth (17) in red, and Mongo (sp?) (21) in beige, each helping to carry the load, we walked to each home, with a gift and a thank you. Then shared a sun’s set to a beautiful day. Monde Litungi Taddy Manyepo Musenge Happy Godfrenizia Likezo
