Beneath the Bridge, safe from the lightening of Rainy Season’s beginning, people adapt to their evolving reality of thousands of years. As these Lozi people who have found safe haven under the bridge from rainy season’s storms, and found shade in the heat of Summer’s light. Moving up and down, as the water’s flow and dry. Safe from years of experience with crocodiles, none will die or be maimed, for they adapt.
From fishers of fish, they are now farmers of animals, and harvesters of plants, even their temporary village, has make shift restaurants, convenience and clothing stores, powered by the sun, allowing them to be business men too.
They are an ancient people adapting and making use of modern ways. So is the life of the Lozi’s on the banks of the Great Zambezi, where a bridge brings people safely from one side to the other, while the locals, use the bridge for purposes, not intended, but adapted by a hardy and creative culture.
In their reality, the bridge will be temporary, as are all human made structures, but as they have shown their culture will live on.
