April 18, 2018 Viana do Castelo, Portugal.
A 90-minute’s day, that was all there was in my day from the time I could wrest my sore, aching body, a victim of illness and age to a place where I could get some Sun before it went to rest itself.
Not every day is dynamic, some are just a day in the week of a month of a year. But sometimes even on such a day there can be some enlightenment.
On this day, I made it to a hilltop church, with stained glass and chandeliers, and to no surprise, a woman in bridal clothes. An expectant mother bride she was, postured with pride, like an angel above the sea. As she will be one with the father of the child they created.
A short drive to the center of Viano do Costelo, brought me to a quiet city center, with statues, carvings and wall hangings of lover’s through the years.
Some flowers and lights to the lengthen the day’.s end, as the Sun sat and so did I. Beth McCann
