A soft Sunday on the shoreline of sand, surf and sea.
Challenged by unchallenging waves, the surfers bob up and down awaiting a crest that can be ridden. Others walk on the waters edge, enjoy the clean salt air and cool breeze. Birds fly as they do, using the waves of wind beneath their wings. As boats with their sails, use the same unseen waves of wind to move to and fro upon the water’s waves.
Balls of all types are sent a flight by hand, foot, paddle and bat. Over nets, through goals and even into a cone.
In one video frame you will see a pair, playfully prancing as they politely photograph their poses for posterity on the Praia.
A gentle and relaxed day at Carcavelos, on this winter’s day, on the Atlantic’s eastern edge on the shore of Portugal.
Thank you to my Uber Drive Nuno Batista for getting me to the right spot on this sublime Sunday.
