Happy 70,001 +/- NEW YEAR
From the San (Bush) Peoples of Botswana, a most experienced new year celebrating culture, who made some of the first fires work (literally). Celebrating for millennia without fail, from times beyond time immemorial, but continued with-in by them, by action not inscription. Here are photos and video as they celebrate and share in the wildlife partying a New Year brings.

With today’s posting you will see the way they spend an eventful day, has been copied by the modern world. They start the day with sport, in this case Bush Volleyball, followed by hunting for day’s celebration food (we call this shopping), having started a fire it is used for cooking, and as the focal point for the nights interaction (for us that would be the iphone or tv), including the wildlife that comes with any celebration. As the night darkens, they enjoy a look up to their ceiling, the night sky and retire. As those who support them reflect on the day, and the days ahead.
