Being isolated, I think of the desserts I once enjoyed. Not able to get out, to select from the local options. I discovered my Brazilian friend, Tener Duarte, who brings me my weekly groceries, would like someday to have his own pastry/dessert shop. I like win-win-win situations, so I proposed to him, each week I will purchase from him a dessert item of my choosing for him to make. Then he can decide, which if any, might provide popular alternatives, to the local offerings.
So far, he has made Raspberry Cheese Cake, Apple Crumble, Chocolate Chip Oatmeal cookies, and this day Lemon with Soft Meringue pie.
I enjoy my taste of home, and my friend from Brazil, can test out various desserts, that someday he can serve in his own place, or he can offer to others for their restaurant, or store.
